What do you make?
I make a range of brightly coloured fused glass items. What inspires you? Nature does. I see a view or a picture and instantly convert it to glass in my heart. I’ll spend hours or days musing over how I can recreate it. How did you begin your making journey? Totally by accident. I had bought a kiln, tools and glass for someone else to run the workshops in my craft business. They changed their mind and I figured I wasn’t going to give the stuff away so I used it. I had no idea how addictive it would be. What is your favourite thing to make? My favourite make is probably ocean themed makes. I love working with the blues. |
Do you ever have crafting disasters?
Oh yes! There have been many. From physical cuts to opening the kilns to find big makes have split in half because I’ve used the wrong firing schedule. They are all valuable lessons though.
If you had a crafting wish, what would it be
It would be to buy a bigger kiln. That wish came true recently as I’m waiting for delivery of one. Do I have another wish. Heck yes, I want to be able to make this work as a full time job. It’s true, if you do what you love, you never have to work a day in your life.
