Body Bliss aka Keisha

What do you make?
I make bath and body products such as, soaps, lip balms, body scrubs, bath salts and bath bombs. I plan to expand my product range soon.
What inspires you?
I think some for most soap makers anything can be inspirational. For example holidays, seasons, colours, plants. Other soap makers can be really inspiring too.
How did you begin your making journey?
I started making out making soaps for my friends and family as a hobby. Then some of my family members wanted buy some products from me for their friends and other relatives.I watched videos on YouTube of how to make products that where easy to create and skin safe. I did a 6 week course at Fayre & Square in 2017 and in 2018 I started selling my products there.
What is the favourite thing you make?
My favourite thing to me would be my bath bomb cupcakes because although they take the longest to make, they look pretty at the end and I like the comments that I receive when people buy them. I also enjoy making my body scrub as it is a simple and quick recipe and I just love how it feels on my skin. Plus it smells amazing and it’s really exfoliating. I am really excited to create new products.
Do you ever have crafting disasters?
When I first started making bath bombs I couldn’t get the mixture to stick together to create the round bath bombs, they would just either break apart or not form the shape properly. Another disaster would be when I made soap with a white base and put rose petals in the mixture. The end result didn’t look appealing. I was a learning experience.
I made bath salts with a blood orange scent and it stuck together in the jars. So I won’t be using that fragrance for bath salts anymore.
If you had a crafting wish, what would it be?
If I had a crafting wish it would be to shop at brambleberry.com, it’s a company that sells everything when it comes to bath and body products. They sell all the ingredients and different kinds of products. Even the packaging like jars and bottles. Or to create a product with Anne - Marie, she’s the CEO of brambleberry and I absolutely love her work.
